Broadcast mixer-amplifier Biamp MA120 Apart

APART's MA series of mixing amplifiers, which have long earned recognition, has been supplemented with a new model - Biamp Apart MA120. The updates affected the entire amplifier as a whole, but most of all, the design: the front panel of the amplifier has finally become much more beautiful, more informative, and easier to use. The amplifier has become truly modern and much more advanced not only technically, but also visually. A pleasant innovation is the power button, which now does not disconnect the amplifier from the power supply, but switches it to standby mode. This approach allows you to turn the amplifier on and off smoothly, eliminating clicks in the speakers when you accidentally press the switch at full volume, which prolongs the life of both the speakers and the amplifier itself. And the switch itself, in the full sense of the word, is located on the rear panel. Further, the microphone section has become independent and very comfortable to use: the level of the microphones is set by the corresponding controls, and the inclusion indicator for each microphone displays its status directly on the button. And finally, the large, comfortable knob, which was previously responsible for the overall volume of the entire amplifier, has become unambiguous: now it only regulates the level of the line inputs “INPUT 1 – 4”, regardless of the state and volume of the microphones. And the unobtrusive backlight on the selection buttons shows which source is currently connected. And the handle itself is equipped with a beautiful, stylish backlight, which, among other things, increases information content in low light conditions. In a long list of pleasant additions, it is now possible to specify signal sources: with factory stickers with standard names, or with blank stickers that can be signed by hand at your discretion. The indicators on the right side of the front panel have also changed: now the amplifier status is also shown by the “Protect” protection activation indicator, the “Emergency in” indicator of an emergency message, the “Paging mic” contact activation indicator, the “Vox MIC A” voice activation indicator of microphone A and a large strip of the amplifier output power indicator. The MA-120 case traditionally allows you to mount it in a standard 19” rack, or use it as a desktop version, without rack mounts. The rear panel of the APART MA-120 amplifier has also undergone a number of significant changes - it has become much more convenient and more functional, which made it possible to relieve the front panel, making it intuitive even for novice users. First of all, all connections on the rear panel are divided into clear, logical sections, eliminating any double interpretation of their functionality. "EMERGENCY IN" is intended to provide an alarm signal from the fire alarm system. This is a balanced input, equipped with a dry contact and voice activation - to implement the signal supply in one way or another, as well as a voice activation level control, and its own input level control. The first input has the highest priority, and when a signal arrives, it blocks all others. Also, when a signal is received at “EMERGENCY IN”, a 24 VDC, max 500 mA signal appears at the “PRIORITY OUT” output to control the bypass contacts of the volume control relay. The “PAGING MIC” input is intended for connecting a paging microphone/message source. A balanced connection of a microphone or a linear signal source is implemented on the Euroblock connector, an unbalanced connection of a linear signal source is on the RCA connector, the signal level is switchable. Also in this section there is a microphone sensitivity control, a level control for the entire 2nd input, a level control for the attention signal “CHIME” and a “TEST” button that allows you to adjust the “CHIME” signal directly from the rear panel of the amplifier. The “PAGING MIC” input has a second priority level. The “MIC A” and “MIC B” inputs are designed for connecting microphones - dynamic or condenser, for which switchable phantom power is provided. The inputs are equipped with sensitivity controls and two-band equalizers, as well as RCA connectors for connecting a line signal source if necessary. The “MIC A” input has a third priority level, and is additionally equipped with sound activation with its own sensitivity control. Important note: the “MIC A” and “MIC B” inputs are not intended for simultaneous supply of line and microphone level signals! Four sections of inputs “INPUT 1 – 4” are designed for connecting linear signal sources; they are equipped with input level controls and RCA connectors. Also for these inputs there is a two-band equalizer placed in a separate section. Linear inputs, as well as the “MIC B” input, have a fourth priority level. APART MA-120 is traditionally equipped with a “REC OUT” output and a “PREAMP OUT” output, organized on RCA connectors, to supply signals from the mixing section to the recording and to an additional power amplifier, respectively. Without exception, all inputs of the MA-120 mixer are equipped with overload indicators, and this is very convenient, since when setting up the system it is very important to control signal levels and not overload the inputs - so that the system does not amplify a distorted signal. The Euroblock output connector allows you to connect a 4 Ohm, 70V or 100V load. And finally, another new and important innovation is the switchable ability to automatically switch the amplifier to standby mode in the absence of a signal. And now - if, when leaving work, you forget to turn off the sound system assembled on the APART MA-120 mixer-amplifier, it will automatically switch to the “STANDBY” mode and save you energy! Truly revolutionary changes in the APART line of mixing amplifiers have made the updated MA series not only more convenient to use and significantly expanded functionally, but also much more attractive in appearance, like any modern device
