The sampling system is a weight in a fluoroplastic shell with holes for water, into which a sampling bottle is screwed through an adapter ring. The placement of the weight above the bottle allows sampling in shallower water bodies than would be possible with a traditional sampler design, and also makes it easier to replace bottles.
