Optical polarizing microscope MAGUS Pol 850

MAGUS Pol 850 is a professional microscope for working using the polarization method in transmitted and reflected light. It also supports bright field operation. The microscope is designed for studying geological, biological polymer anisotropic objects and opaque polished sections, the thickness of which can reach 15 mm. One side of the polished section must be polished. The microscope is used in various fields of science: medicine, petrography, mineralogy, forensics, etc. Optical design Planachromatic objectives are designed to operate without a cover glass and are stress-free, i.e., they do not introduce false optical effects into the image. The optics provide clear and detailed images across the entire field of view. A total of four lenses are included in the kit; they are installed in a revolving device with five sockets. An optional lens from the brand’s line of accessories can be installed in the remaining free slot. The revolver sockets are centered. The microscope is equipped with a trinocular attachment, which has a separate visualization channel for a digital camera (the camera is not included in the package). The light flux can be completely directed into the eyepiece tubes or onto the camera (division 100/0 or 0/100). To adjust the optics to the user's vision, you can use the diopter adjustment on the left eyepiece. Lighting system To illuminate the work area, 30 W halogen lamps are used for reflected and transmitted light. They shine brightly in the “warm” color spectrum, so they create optimal conditions for long-term work on each lens: samples are clearly visible, and the eyes do not get tired. Lighting can be set using the Köhler method, i.e. the image will be artifact-free, with high resolution and without vignetting. In reflected light, the use of light filters is available. Polarized light is obtained as a result of the mutual work of the analyzer and polarizer: by rotating them relative to each other, the polarization angle is adjusted. For conoscopy, a Bertrand lens is used - it is located in the intermediate nozzle. There is also a slot for installing compensators - with the help of compensators, the contrast of objects is increased. Mechanics The stage rotates so that the refraction of light inside the sample can be changed. The stage can also be centered relative to the optical axis. On the table there are rotation angle marks and a measuring scale. For focusing, knobs on the microscope body are used: sharpness is adjusted coarsely and finely. The coarse focusing stroke can be made softer or harder for user convenience. There is also a travel blocker for it. Accessories Additional accessories will help to reveal all the capabilities of the microscope: lenses, eyepieces, digital cameras, calibration slides. They are presented in the MAGUS brand line.
