Oximeter HANNA HI 9146-04 (portable)
Oximeter HANNA HI 9146-04 (portable) The HI 9146-04 is a reliable, portable dissolved oxygen (DO in mg/l or %) meter designed to provide accurate measurements in harsh environmental and industrial environments. This instrument contains many features including automatic one or two point calibration in saturated air and/or zero dissolved oxygen solution, automatic end point detection, and compensation for temperature, salinity and altitude. The HI 9146-04 comes complete with a polarographic sensor, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) membrane caps, electrolyte solution and a durable carrying case. Dissolved oxygen is a frequently measured parameter in aquaculture, wastewater treatment, environmental studies and wine analysis. HI 9146-04 is suitable for measurements both in the field and in the laboratory. All instrument display readings are automatically compensated for temperature fluctuations and can be recorded when stable readings are achieved using automatic end point detection. Salinity and altitude compensation are user adjustable depending on environmental conditions. The HI 9146-04 is equipped with a Battery Error Prevention System (BEPS) that detects when the battery's charge has reached a point where its charge is too weak to provide reliable measurements. HI 9146-04 is supplied fully assembled and ready for use. Polarographic measuring system The instrument and sensor use polarographic sensor technology based on the Ross and Clark polarographic measurement method. The sensor consists of a platinum cathode and a silver anode placed in an electrolyte solution held by a polymer membrane near the surface of the electrodes. An external voltage applied to the system generates an electric current, the strength of which is proportional to the current concentration of dissolved oxygen. Replaceable caps with membrane A thin polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) membrane is stretched over a threaded screw cap that can be quickly replaced by simply filling a new cap with HI 7041 electrolyte solution and screwing it onto the dissolved oxygen (DO) sensor. Automatic calibration The device can be calibrated at one or two points of 100% and/or 0% oxygen saturation. The 100% point is calibrated in air, while the 0% point is calibrated in a two-part solution of HI 7040 with zero dissolved oxygen. Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) The Good Laboratory Practices feature allows the user to recall calibration information, including date, time, and calibration points. Automatic temperature compensation All measured readings are automatically compensated for temperature fluctuations with high accuracy, thanks to the built-in linearizing temperature sensor thermistor located on the rear of the stainless steel cover. Altitude compensation The HI 9146-04 device allows you to compensate for the influence of altitude up to 4000 meters above sea level with a resolution of 100 meters. Salinity compensation Salinity compensation is adjustable from 0 to 80 g/l (parts per thousand) with a resolution of 1 g/l for measuring dissolved oxygen in brackish and seawater. Automatic endpoint discovery The HI 9146-04 device is equipped with an automatic end point detection mode, when selected, the display readings will be frozen when a stable value is reached. This feature allows for consistency of measurements between different users, provided that consistency has been achieved in recording the readings. Backlit LCD display The HI 9146-04 device is equipped with a backlit display for easy viewing of readings in low light conditions. Battery Error Prevention System (BEPS) The Battery Error Prevention System detects when the battery level becomes too weak to provide reliable measurements. When the battery power becomes low, the display backlight function automatically turns off and a clear indication appears on the display to alert the user of this condition.
