Wave optics demo kit

Areas of expertise and application The demonstration kit is intended for conducting demonstration experiments on the topics of wave optics: Studying the dispersion of light in matter Effects associated with the decomposition of light into a spectrum Absorption of light in matter Obtaining polarized radiation and its application Interference and diffraction of light waves What will the child learn? The demonstration kit provides 22 demonstration experiments. In addition, the demonstration kit provides computational modeling of diffraction at a single slit and the operation of a diffraction grating Working method Allows you to teach the main stages of conducting experimental research, and also allows you to conduct joint research with students. Composition: Optical bench Semiconductor laser operating at a wavelength of 650 nm Adjustable table Set of riders for placing elements on the optical bench Set of mandrels with screens for holding optical elements Collecting lens f = 5 cm Collecting lens f = 10 cm Diffraction grating 50 lines/mm Diffraction grating 100 lines/mm Glass prism “Flint” Frame for observing interference in soap film Sample made of plexiglass for demonstrating stresses Diffraction element “thread” Diffraction element “slit” (represents a glass square in a frame, on a black background of which a 0.3 mm thick slit is photographically applied) Diffraction element “hole” Diffraction element “slit” (represents a glass square in a frame, on a black background of which a slit 0.6 mm thick is applied photographically) Two-dimensional diffraction structure “Newton’s Ring” assembly Fresnel biprism Glass plate Set of light filters Flat mirror Polaroid (2 pcs.) Set of polymer films Modeling software The entire set comes in a plastic storage system, which is closed with a transparent lid with latches. All elements of the set are located in the storage system on a support. Methodological support The kit has a methodological manual in Russian, which contains instructions for performing 22 experiments. The description of the experiments is accompanied by optical diagrams and photographs of the assembled installations. Software The software allows you to work under Windows operating systems and allows you to simulate the diffraction of light on a single slit and on a diffraction grating. The calculation model “Diffraction of light on one slit” of the software provides calculation of the diffraction pattern that appears on the screen when the slit is illuminated with monochromatic radiation. The software's on-screen interface allows for input of the radiation wavelength and slit width at which diffraction is observed. The “Diffraction Grating” calculation model of the software provides calculation of the interference pattern that appears on the screen when the diffraction grating model is illuminated with monochromatic radiation. The software's on-screen interface allows you to enter values for the radiation wavelength, number of lines, and period of the diffraction grating model. Both computational models have methodological manuals describing numerical experiments that can be performed using this model. Provided that this set is equipped with a VO Illuminator, a power source with a voltage of at least 12V is additionally required for conducting experiments, for example, a 24V power supply regulated with a load current of up to 10A. Important: The product is included in the register of industrial products produced on the territory of the Russian Federation 2740\4\2022. Included in the list of educational equipment for equipping new-built schools (Order No. 804 of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation dated 09/06/2022)
