Demonstration kit on mechanical vibrations
The set on mechanical vibrations is designed to demonstrate vibrations, traveling and standing waves, including the phenomenon of resonance in various mechanical oscillatory systems. What will the child learn? The set demonstrates phenomena such as a standing wave in a spring, resonance in an elastic ring, and Chladni figures. Working method Allows you to teach the main stages of conducting experimental research, and also allows you to conduct joint research with students. Composition: Vibration generator Wire ring Rod for attaching the vibration generator to a tripod Spring Steel plates of different shapes (round, square, triangular) Rubber band Weight 100 g River sand Connecting wire (2 pcs.) Alligator clip on a threaded connection Software for simulating wave effects The entire set is supplied in a plastic storage system, which is closed with a transparent lid. All elements of the set in the storage system are located on a support. Methodological support The demonstration kit has a methodological manual in Russian for performing 6 experiments. The description of the experiments is accompanied by photographs of the installations, showing what results the teacher will receive during the demonstration. Software The software makes it possible to simulate the dynamics of the development of vibrations of a string under periodic transverse action on one of its ends, in particular, to provide observation of the propagation of the wave and its reflection at the point where the string is fixed. The initial data for modeling are the speed of wave propagation, the length of the string, the frequency of the external influence, the wave reflection coefficients at the points where the string is fixed, as well as a coefficient characterizing the rate of attenuation of vibrations during wave propagation. The software allows you to work under operating systems of the Windows family. To carry out experiments, an additional sinusoidal signal generator with an output signal amplitude of at least 10V and smooth frequency control in the range from 0.1Hz to 10 kHz is required.
