Microwave system Lumex Minotaur-2

Microwave system Minotaur-2 designed for the destruction of organic substances in natural, drinking and waste waters, biological objects and food products when conducting physical and chemical analysis for heavy metal contaminants by any methods. The microwave mineralizer is used for environmental monitoring of environmental objects, sanitary control and control of technological processes. In addition to mineralization, evaporation and concentration, Minotaur-2 can be used for hydrolysis, extraction using polar and non-polar organic solvents (with attachments for filtration and evaporation), microwave drying and microwave synthesis. Main features: fast and effective mineralization of wastewater, food products, feed, biological objects, pharmaceuticals; automatic evaporation; reduction of reagent consumption; improved reproducibility; minimizing sample loss; elimination of losses of volatile elements (selenium, arsenic, mercury); methodological support; automatic control of reaction parameters and release of excess pressure guarantee the safety of laboratory personnel; several modes of program-controlled adjustment of magnetron power over time; precise and reliable control of power, temperature and pressure over time; the ability to control a computer or remote control; convenient user interface; the ability to work independently or as part of a complex of several devices with a single control; complete safety. Pressure control systems and automatic evaporation of liquids, as well as the modularity of the mineralizer, expand its methodological capabilities. Pressure control When heated during sample preparation, oxidizing reagents react with the organic matrix of the sample, forming carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides. Rapid gas release at the beginning of the mineralization process makes further ashing in closed containers difficult. An increase in pressure forces the heating to be turned off, while the temperature and rate of mineralization drop. In addition, a closed container can only hold a limited mass of gases, and this also limits the mass of the sample (for example, the sample sample containing carbohydrates in most such systems is tenths of a gram). The Minotaur-2 mineralizer is equipped with a pressure control unit, which detects increased gas emission and issues commands to turn off the heating and remove gases. Automatic pressure release takes a few seconds, after which mineralization again occurs at maximum speed. Sample loss during pressure release is eliminated due to selected mineralization conditions (weight of the sample, volume of oxidizing reagents, operating pressure) and slow release of gases. The presence of a pressure control unit allows you to increase the sample weight. An acceptable sample size of up to 2 g significantly reduces the requirements for the sensitivity of the analysis method, improves sample representativeness and reproducibility of results. At the same time, the completeness of mineralization allows the sample to be prepared for analysis not only by atomic absorption and atomic emission methods (in which additional ashing occurs during atomization of the sample), but also for photometric and luminescent analyses. Automatic evaporation Evaporation of liquids is necessary to prepare liquid samples and to remove excess acids after mineralization (in cases where the pH value of the medium is significant for the further course of the analysis). To avoid loss of elements due to overdrying of the sample, the volume of remaining liquid in the device during evaporation is constantly monitored. When the balance reaches the set value, the device automatically turns off the heating. For some solutions with a high salt content, it is possible to bring the sample to a dry residue. Carrying out evaporation and mineralization in one container eliminates losses during sample transfer. Security The Minotaur-2 sample preparation system minimizes the exposure of laboratory personnel to acids. Heavy acids are not used in the mineralization process. Nitric acid vapor is discharged through a collector and condensate collector either into an external fume hood or into a special absorption system - a scrubber. The high-pressure sample container is always contained in an outer titanium protective shell with gas venting channels. Removing the container from the device is only possible after releasing the pressure. In addition, the pressure control unit makes it possible to achieve effective mineralization temperatures at relatively low pressure (8 atm). The device is also equipped with a specially designed valve to relieve excess pressure. Protection from the effects of microwave fields is provided by a specially designed waveguide system, which eliminates leaks outside the microwave module and fully meets the requirements of sanitary safety standards for all modes of use of the device. Modularity The Minotaur-2 sample preparation system can operate independently or as part of a complex of 2, 3 or 4 devices with a single control. The complex can be controlled by one computer or control panel. A convenient user interface has been created for an external computer, allowing you to: use a database of standard algorithms with information about the samples being opened, the types and volumes of acids used, sample weights, etc.; automatically control and maintain the set temperature and pressure; save, program and create new sample preparation algorithms; display on the monitor screen the dynamics of controlled parameters (pressure and temperature) directly during the reaction process; keep a virtual laboratory journal, record the decomposition of each sample with the issuance of the protocol on an external medium and/or printing device. Basic package: Microwave mineralizer Minotaur-2; 3 containers for decomposition; a package of methodological support for the mineralization of natural, drinking, waste water, food products, animal feed, soils, indicating the conditions for the mineralization of these objects.
