Laboratory installation "Determination of thermal conductivity of air" Naurash

The main element of the installation is two coaxial tubes placed vertically, which makes it extremely difficult for convective flows to occur in the space between the tubes. The inner tube is a heater. Thermal energy is transferred through the air gap to the outer tube and dissipated into the surrounding space. The method for determining the thermal conductivity coefficient of air is based on the equality of the stationary heat flow between the cylinders of the power generated by the heater in the inner cylinder, which leads to the following formula for the thermal conductivity coefficient: λ = I * U * In(r2/r1) / 2π h * (T1-T2) The parameters necessary for substitution into the formula are measured by the following sensors: Temperature difference between the inner and outer cylinders – differential thermocouple temperature sensor; Voltage on the heating element – digital voltage sensor; The current strength in the heater circuit is determined by the current sensor.
