Laboratory installation "Study of the electrostatic field" Naurash

Naurash's "Study of the Electrostatic Field" installation includes a cuvette with an electrolyte in which electrodes of various configurations are located, a probe immersed in the electrolyte and devices for moving it along two coordinates. The probe moves along one of the coordinates automatically with the coordinates being fixed by a computer program. To carry out measurements, a two-channel oscilloscope voltage sensor is used, connected to the probe electrodes. When carrying out measurements, several software scenarios are used, one of which involves the formation of a three-dimensional data array (potential and two point coordinates) in semi-automatic mode. The obtained data is presented on the screen both in the form of a three-dimensional picture and in the form of equipotentials - lines of intersection of a three-dimensional surface with planes of constant potential. In a number of scenarios, a direct measurement of field strength is implemented as the voltage between the probe electrodes, related to the distance between them. In the event that the geometry of the electrodes allows an analytical solution to the problem of field and potential distribution, the experimental data are compared with the theoretical dependence.
