Promobot Rooky Robotics Learning Kit

The Promobot Rooky robotics learning kit helps schoolchildren and students learn the basics of working with “real” service robots. The Rooky manipulator arm is a copy of the Promobot service robot’s arm adapted for autonomous operation. Rooky helps you learn mechatronics and electronics, programming languages ​​and algorithms, robot assembly and maintenance in practice. With Promobot Rooky, students gain skills in assembling and controlling a manipulator arm and servos, writing program code to solve forward and inverse kinematics problems, and the ability to work with protocols for organizing communications between electronic devices and with industrial data buses. Classes with Rooky can be easily integrated into any educational process at a school, university, college or additional education institution. The kit includes not only the software and hardware part, but also the educational and methodological part. Educational materials are already used in Russian universities - St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI", Novosibirsk State University, Perm and Samara Polytechnics, Moscow Aviation Institute, UrGUPS, REU named after. Plekhanov and other universities. The teaching materials were created on the basis of practical experience: scientists, engineers and programmers who created robots for use in 43 countries of the world participated in the development. The materials include a teacher knowledge program that allows you to organize a comprehensive study of an innovative discipline. Thanks to Promobot Rooky, students receive up-to-date competencies and skills necessary to work in a robotics company.
