Spectrometer InfraLUM FT-08 designed for routine measurements and scientific research in the infrared region of the spectrum. The spectrometer is connected to the control computer via a standard USB interface. Easy-to-use software allows you to solve problems using various analytical techniques, and identify substances using both spectral commercial libraries and the spectra of libraries created by the user. Features of the optical-electronic path InfraLUM FT-08: patented interferometer design that is insensitive to misalignment; sealed optical compartment with an automatic system for controlling humidity and temperature of the optical and electronic systems; radiation source with a service life of up to 5 years. Operation procedure The device is controlled by the SpectraLUM program running in Windows, which ensures ease of control and allows even untrained personnel to quickly master the operation of the device. The program automates the process of measuring and processing the spectrum, allows the operator to obtain information about the sample in a convenient form and has a developed system for viewing and processing the received data. Gas analysis A single- or multi-pass gas cell is filled with a gas sample and the transmission (or absorption) spectrum is measured using the SpectraLUM program. The optical path length of the gas cell used varies from 50 mm to 2.4 m or more and is selected depending on the properties of the gases being measured and their concentration. Analysis of liquid samples For the analysis of liquids, collapsible and non-separable liquid cuvettes are used, with an optical path length from 0.01 to 1 mm and with windows made of various materials, providing transparency in the required spectral range and the necessary resistance to moisture, as well as ATR or ATR attachments MAPVO.Analysis of solid samples Solid samples are pressed with KBr and the transmission (or absorption) spectrum of the resulting tablet is measured using the SpectraLUM program. The sample can also be ground with petroleum jelly and the spectrum can be measured in a liquid cell. For the greatest expressiveness, or in case of complexity or insufficient information content of other measurement methods, the prefixes ATR, MARTR or diffuse reflection can be used. Film AnalysisTo measure the transmittance (or absorption) spectrum of films, a magnetic thin film holder is used. To measure ATR spectra, use vertical or horizontal ATR attachments. Analysis of small objects To obtain IR spectra of small samples or small areas of the sample surface, an IR microscope is used. Depending on the operating mode of the microscope, it is possible to obtain transmission, reflection or ATR spectra. Identification of sample spectra from spectral libraries The measured spectrum of a sample can be automatically identified. For this purpose, SpectraLUM software (library module) is used.
