The highly purified nitrogen produced by the generator has a high outlet pressure and low moisture content, which allows it to be used as a carrier gas, even when using an electron capture detector (ECD). The source of compressed air is an oil-free compressor with a receiver built into the device. Compressed air is supplied to the generator through a coalescent filter, in which preliminary cleaning of dust and condensation of oil and water vapor occurs. Nitrogen production in the generator is carried out by air separation using the method of short-cycle, heat-free adsorption on carbon molecular sieves according to a two-arm scheme, with two adsorbers operating alternately. Along the way, the gas is purified from water vapor, carbon dioxide, oils, hydrogen and hydrocarbons, except methane. There is no purification from helium, neon, or argon, and only minor purification from methane. The pressure at the generator outlet is stabilized by a built-in mechanical pressure regulator. The values of nitrogen flow in the consumer line and oxygen concentration are determined by built-in sensors and displayed on the display. The occurrence of emergency situations is monitored by sensors, respectively, flow, pressure, oxygen. In these cases, the supply of nitrogen to the consumer line is stopped, at the same time the indicator lights up, an audible signal is heard, and text information about the nature of the malfunction appears on the display. The main maintenance operations are: checking the tightness of output gas communications, regenerating the catalyst, cleaning the strainer from dirt and dust; replacing the fine air filter. Checking the tightness of outlet gas communications is carried out by washing. Regeneration of the catalyst is carried out when the purification of the resulting nitrogen from methane deteriorates and consists of a short-term (up to 30 minutes) turning off the device.
