Photoelectric analyzer of suspended particles FAV

Suspended Particle Analyzer FAV designed to measure the mass concentration of suspended substances of various dispersed compositions in samples of natural, drinking and waste waters using the photometric method. It is used when carrying out activities in the field of environmental protection and sanitary and epidemiological supervision. Included in the State Register of Measuring Instruments of the Russian Federation under No. 73603-18. Unlike the gravimetric (weight) method for measuring the concentration of suspended substances, using the FAV analyzer does not require a stationary chemical laboratory with a variety of equipment and reagents. Gravimetric analysis (weight analysis) is a classic, as well as the main and most important method of quantitative chemical analysis, which allows one to measure the mass concentration of suspended substances - the main (direct) quantitative characteristic (indicator) in the analyzed object (disperse medium). However, gravimetry is a labor-intensive method, so for express assessment of the mass concentration of suspended substances an indirect indicator is used - turbidity. The turbidity index is determined using nephelometry and turbidimetry - methods of photometric analysis based on measuring with photocells, respectively, the degree of scattering and the degree of absorption of the light flux in the analyzed object (disperse medium). Massive the concentration of the analyte is determined using calibration graphs. However, the relationship between the turbidity of the analyzed object (disperse medium) and the mass concentration of suspended substances is complex and ambiguous. Unlike other photometric instruments (nephelometers, turbidimeters, etc.), the FAV analyzer does not require additional procedures for the comparative determination of indirect indicators of the degree of turbidity and transparency and their conversion into direct indicators of the concentration of suspended substances in the analyzed object. The new modification of the analyzers is equipped with software that allows you to control the measurement process, collect experimental data and save the results. Digital display allows for accurate readings and there is no need for different measurement ranges. The FAV analyzer allows for rapid assessment of the concentration of suspended substances directly at the source of the analyzed object (aquatic environment). Adapted for work in stationary and mobile laboratories, as well as on expeditions (field conditions). The digital analyzer of suspended solids FAV operates in the measurement range of mass concentration of suspended solids from 3 to 900 mg/dm3, has a memory that allows you to save measurement data, simultaneously displays mass concentration and light transmittance and is more convenient to use. Unlike instruments used in titrimetric methods of chemical analysis, the FAV analyzer does not require the creation and maintenance of special conditions to obtain measurement results of the concentration of suspended substances - temperature and volume of the solution, the concentration of any reagents (reagents), stirring speed, time of measurements. The FAV analyzer does not require a large consumption of reagents to prepare and carry out measurements (the GSO tablet is needed only for verification and when changing the characteristics of the studied media). Along with nephelometers and turbidimeters, the device belongs to the group of photoanalyzers that record the signal level depending on the concentration of the substance in the analyzed object. However, unlike nephelometers, turbidimeters and other turbidity meters and absortiometers, the FAV analyzer uses an optical scheme based on the phenomenon of diffraction of light radiation on particles comparable in size (0.5...25 µm) with the wavelength of radiation (0.65 µm - red ray of the visible spectrum). The optical circuit used in the FAW analyzer provides the necessary accuracy in measuring the mass concentration of suspended substances and is a unique patented Russian development, which has no analogues in the world in terms of metrological parameters.
