Phase-contrast microscopy is a research method based on obtaining, using special devices, a contrast image of structures of colorless transparent microobjects (for example, living microorganisms and tissue cultures) varying in density. When a beam of light passes through an unpainted object, only the oscillation phase of the light wave changes, which is not perceived by the human eye. In order for the image to become contrasty, it is necessary to convert the phase changes of the light wave into visible amplitude ones. This is achieved using a phase contrast condenser and a phase lens. The main parts of the device are a phase condenser, phase objectives and an auxiliary microscope. Dovetail phase condenser mount. The operating principle of the device is based on the phase contrast method, which makes it possible to observe unstained low-contrast preparations. The condenser can be used for observation in the usual way; For this purpose, there is an iris diaphragm under the revolver disk, and in the revolver disk, in addition to the annular diaphragms, there is a free hole for transmitting the entire beam of light. The phase condenser is inserted into the microscope's condenser bracket ring in place of a conventional bright-field condenser and is clamped with a screw in the usual manner. Changing the annular diaphragms, depending on the lens used, is done by turning the revolving disk by the knurled part until it locks.
