Reference electrode HANNA HI 5412 (glass) Fillable, glass half-cell reference electrode with double salt bridge and banana connector. The electrode contains one ceramic diaphragm and a calomel reference electrode. The electrode is designed for use with ion selective electrodes, titrations, and general applications over a temperature range of -5 to 60°C. Glass body The glass body is ideal for laboratory use. Glass is resistant to various aggressive environments and is easy to clean. The glass housing also facilitates rapid heat transfer to the internal reference electrode. The voltage generated by the reference electrode depends on temperature. The faster the electrode reaches equilibrium, the more stable the potential of the reference electrode. One ceramic diaphragm The salt bridge of the electrode is a necessary element of the measuring circuit. The movement of ions across the salt bridge ensures data stability. The reference electrode has one ceramic diaphragm. Ceramics is a porous material that easily fuses with glass and has a similar coefficient of thermal expansion. The flow rate through one ceramic diaphragm is 15-20 µl/h. Other diaphragms, made from different materials, provide higher flow rates. Fillable electrode For the double salt bridge electrode, 3.5M KCL solution is used for filling. This solution does not contain silver, unlike a single salt bridge electrode. The absence of silver prevents the formation of sediment on the salt bridge and its clogging. A clogged salt bridge leads to drift in experimental data. 4mm jack The HI 5412 uses a 4mm banana plug. This type of connector easily connects to the corresponding connector. Other types of connectors ndash; these are BNC, DIN, screw, T-shaped and 3.5mm.
