When not in use, pH electrodes should be kept in electrode storage solution (3M KCI). DO NOT keep electrodes in distilled or deionized water as this will cause ions to leak from the glass membrane and reference electrolyte, resulting in increased electrode response time. To prevent mechanical damage and keep the glass membrane moist when transporting pH electrodes, protective caps or bottles are used to store the electrodes. Before use, carefully remove the electrode from the bottle and rinse it with distilled water. When storing the electrode for a long time, it is necessary to ensure that the storage solution always completely covers the electrode membrane. Add solution to the bottle as needed.
