Combination electrode HANNA FC 202D (plastic)

Combination electrode HANNA FC 202D (plastic) For devices produced before 2018. FC 202D is a pH electrode with a built-in temperature sensor, amplifier, one salt bridge and DIN connector. Features of the FC 200D are a housing made of food-grade plastic PVDF Kynar, an open diaphragm with a gel-like electrolyte of viscolen, a sensitive conical membrane made of low-temperature glass. The electrode design is ideal for measuring pH in dairy products, emulsions, creams or other semi-solid samples. Recommended application range is from 0 to 50 °C. Area of application: dairy and meat industry. Low temperature glass The electrode membrane is made of low-temperature glass with a resistance reduced by 50 MΩ compared to the resistance of general purpose glass (OH) of 100 MΩ. This is an advantage since many foods are stored at low temperatures. As the glass in the sample cools, the resistance of LT glass increases, approaching the resistance of OH glass at room temperature. If OH glass was used, the resistance would increase above the optimum input impedance of the pH meter. FC 202D is suitable for measuring samples from 0 to 50 °C. Conical membrane The conical shape of the membrane allows penetration into solid, semi-solid samples and emulsions for direct pH measurements in foods including meats, cheeses, yogurt and milk. PVDF housing Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) is a food grade plastic that is resistant to most chemicals and solvents, including sodium hypochlorite. PVDF is abrasion-resistant, has high mechanical strength and resistance to ultraviolet and radiation, as well as mold growth. Reference electrode with open diaphragm Suspended solids and proteins found in food clog the ceramic diaphragm. Clogging interferes with the measurement circuit between the indicator and reference electrodes, resulting in slow response, data drift, and frequent electrode replacement. The open aperture design involves contact of the Ag/AgCl reference electrode with the sample through a solid gel (viskolen). This interaction prevents silver ions from entering the sample and does not cause clogging, resulting in fast response and data stability. DIN connector To connect the FC 202D, a DIN connector is used, which allows the electrode to be used only on a portable pH meter HI 99161. Manba: https://www.nv-lab.ru/catalog_info.php?ID=2741
