Combination electrode HANNA FC 200B (plastic)
Combination electrode HANNA FC 200B (plastic) Combined pH electrode for food products (meat and dairy industries). Electrode in PVDF housing, with one salt bridge, gel electrolyte and BNC connector. This electrode features an open diaphragm, low-temperature glass sensing membrane, and a Kynar food-grade plastic housing. The electrode design is ideal for measuring pH in the food industry, including measurements in fats, dough, minced meat, meat, sausages, milk, yogurt, kefir, cheese, preserves, creams, butter, marmalade, melted chocolate and other semi-solid food samples. The electrode is inserted directly into the products; there is no need to prepare solutions. The FC 200B includes low temperature (LT) glass, a conical diaphragm, a food grade PVDF housing, an open diaphragm and a viscolen gel electrolyte. Low temperature glass The electrode membrane is made of low-temperature glass with a resistance reduced by 50 MΩ compared to the resistance of general purpose glass (OH) of 100 MΩ. This is an advantage since many foods are stored at low temperatures. As the glass in the sample cools, the resistance of LT glass increases, approaching the resistance of OH glass at room temperature. If OH glass was used, the resistance would increase above the optimal input impedance of the pH meter. The FC 200B is suitable for measuring samples from 0 to 50 °C. Conical membrane The conical shape of the membrane allows penetration into solid, semi-solid samples and emulsions for direct pH measurements in foods including meats, cheeses, yogurt and milk. PVDF housing Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) is a food grade plastic that is resistant to most chemicals and solvents, including sodium hypochlorite. PVDF is abrasion-resistant, has high mechanical strength and resistance to ultraviolet and radiation, as well as mold growth. Reference electrode with open diaphragm Suspended solids and proteins found in food clog the ceramic diaphragm. Clogging interferes with the measurement circuit between the indicator and reference electrodes, resulting in slow response, data drift, and frequent electrode replacement. The open aperture design involves contact of the Ag/AgCl reference electrode with the sample through a solid gel (viskolen). This interaction prevents silver ions from entering the sample and does not cause clogging, resulting in fast response and data stability. BNC connector The FC 200B uses a BNC connection. This is a universal connection that allows the electrode to be used on any pH meter with the same type of connection. Other types of connections are DIN, threaded, T-shaped and 3.5 mm. These types of connections are typically specific to a specific type of device and are not interchangeable. The FC 200B electrode can work with pH meters HI 83141, HI 2210, HI 2211, HI 2215, etc. Manba: https://www.nv-lab.ru/catalog_info.php?ID=2514
