Later, when scanning, the number of scanned pages of the document is checked against the number specified in advance or determined in the counting mode. The scanner can independently determine whether the document being scanned is color, grayscale, or black and white, and stop feeding if it detects a skewed document that touches the edges of the feed window, or if originals are detected that are stapled. There is a mechanism that can detect the presence of dust in the scanning unit and, if necessary, perform error handling. An ultrasonic sensor can detect when two or more pages of a document are being fed into the scanner at the same time. However, in order to properly process sheets with stickers pasted, this function can be disabled. When the scanning process begins, the preview function scans the first page and stops, allowing the user to adjust brightness and contrast, and then continue scanning with optimal settings. During scanning, the orientation of the text on each page is determined, and if necessary, the image is rotated in 90-degree increments until the correct orientation is achieved. There is also a function for eliminating distortions. You can enable bleed-through prevention (which can be useful for double-sided originals) and background removal, as well as eliminate and enhance colors (red, blue, green, or in between) in the scanned image. Features include removing shadows from staple holes in the original, skipping blank pages, adjusting text and line thickness, background smoothing, and barcode detection. At the same time, some of the image processing tasks are solved in the scanner itself, which reduces the performance requirements of the computer from which the scanning process is initiated.
