Didactic game: Lamtoys Nature Calendar
Didactic game: Lamtoys Nature Calendar includes games, tasks and exercises for children 4 - 5 years old. “Guess what time of year it is on the calendar” An adult changes the direction of the seasonal arrow on the circle, inserts, temperature readings using laces and asks to determine the time of year. Children show the season indicated by the model: spring, summer, autumn or winter. “When does this happen?” Using inserts, arrows and a thermometer, the adult indicates one of the seasons, and the child names it. Then the adult and child change roles. “What happens at this time of year?” The adult moves the arrow to one of the seasons of the “year-circle” and asks the child (children) to select the appropriate inserts for the “window frames” - “clothing”, “labor”, “wildlife”, and also indicate the temperature on the “cold-hot” scale. “What did Dunno mix up?” An adult indicates winter on the “Calendar”, and selects summer inserts for “clothing” and “labor”. Children must find the mistake and correct it. Then the children take on the role of “Dunno,” and the adult corrects them. “What is the weather today?” After preliminary observations, children select inserts with indicators of cloudiness, wind, and precipitation. “What month and day of the week is it today?” Children select the insert for the corresponding month, day of the week, and point with an arrow to the season of the month on the “all year round” model. "Yesterday-today-tomorrow" Children on a small “weekly circle” determine what day of the week was yesterday, what it is today and what it will be tomorrow. "Rainbow Week" An adult teaches children to distinguish and name the 7 colors of the rainbow and relate them to the days of the week. “What color is today's day of the week? Pick up the insert and install it.” “What color is Sunday?” (Exercise option No. 8). Children answer the questions: “What color is Sunday? What about Saturday? What about Friday? gradually filling in the names of the days of the week. 10. “How to dress for the weather? What to do? Based on the inserts, children are invited to draw their own clothing models or depict seasonal fun, games, and entertainment. “Our site in winter and summer.” Children are asked to compare the image on 4 sectors of the “all year round” model, and describe winter and summer in comparison. "What comes first - what comes next" An adult asks to tell what changes in nature follow each other from winter to summer. Games, tasks and exercises for children 5 – 7 years old. "Weather forecast for today" An adult offers to play weather forecasters, meteorologists, set all the indicators on the “Calendar” and draw up a forecast report. The best forecast (the most accurate, complete, correctly and beautifully told) is recorded on audio or video tape. 14. “Commentators needed for a television studio” In the game, children try their hand at being candidates for weather commentators on the Vesti or Vremya programs. The jury members evaluate the correctness of the calendar's design and the accuracy of the description of its indicators, the sequence of presentation of the topic of the speech, and the behavior of the commentator. 15. “Weekly Forecast” An additional challenge to this forecast will be the assumptions and their rationale. 16. “When it happens” – competition of experts Participants prepare questions, riddles, proverbs, sayings, drawings, photographs reflecting observations of nature and weather.
