Measuring the temperature of an external object allows the thermostat to compensate for the temperature difference T1 - T2, which arises due to heat loss on the path of the coolant to the object. At first glance, it seems that heat loss can be compensated by setting the appropriate thermostat temperature, but in fact this value depends on the ambient temperature and changes as it changes. An external sensor placed in the chemical reactor will allow the thermostat to calculate a change in heating or cooling power that compensates for the heat released or absorbed in the reactor so that the reactor temperature remains unchanged.
