The Van Dorn horizontal bathometer is designed for taking water samples from open reservoirs for subsequent chemical analysis. Description When diving, the valves of the device are in the open state; closing the valves of the bottle at the required depth is done using a messenger weight lowered along a cable (line). Instant and reliable closing of the valves is facilitated by a latex rod connecting both valves. A built-in thermometer is used to record the temperature of the sample being taken. The collected sample is drained through a special fitting (plastic). The air valve ensures that the sample is drained without the formation of air bubbles, preventing the sample from being saturated with oxygen. All internal parts of the bathometer in contact with the sample are made of inert plastics. The device flask is made of seamless acrylic pipe that can withstand high pressures. The mechanism and frame of the bathometer are made of stainless steel. Mounted weights with a fastening system allow you to quickly change the weight of the device. When diving under current conditions, additional weights weighing 1 kg are installed on the bottlemeter, which reduces the deviation of the device from the vertical.
