Total nitrogen analyzer TOPAZ-N allows you to determine the mass concentration designed to measure the mass concentration of total nitrogen (TN) in various water samples (composed of organic nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen, nitrate and nitrite nitrogen). The operating principle of the device is based on high-temperature thermal catalytic oxidation of compounds contained in a water sample, followed by detection of oxides and automatic calculation of the gross carbon content in the analyzed water sample. The determination of total nitrogen is carried out by measuring the concentration of nitric oxide using chemiluminescence detection, i.e. by measuring the intensity of chemiluminescence that occurs in the gas mixture during the reaction of nitrogen oxides with ozone (ISO 11905-2 method is implemented). The sample is introduced manually using a microsyringe.
