3D printer Picaso Designer XL Pro S2 is a new large-format model from the professional series of FDM printers from the Russian company Picaso. This model is the company's new flagship in 2022. It enables high-temperature printing of geometrically complex supported products and offers an increased build area. Picaso Designer XL Pro S2 will be an excellent purchase for mass production and high-precision prototyping. The new product has a closed body and an actively heated chamber, inside of which a stable temperature is maintained up to 90 degrees Celsius. This allows you to print with engineering materials with maximum efficiency: Formax, PSU, PP, PEEK, PA and others. The dimensions of the construction area were increased to 360×360×610 mm. The printer has an additional thermal circuit that provides the necessary thermal insulation. The latest extruder with a maximum temperature of 430 degrees Celsius allows you to print the most complex engineering materials, including PEEK and PEKK. The print head has been upgraded to ensure smooth operation in high temperature environments. New guides are used to feed the material, and magnetic encoders are used to control the feed. The new stepper motors have also been modified to withstand high temperatures. The layer thickness during printing is 10–250 microns. The extruder is equipped with two nozzles, which allows you to print two colors, two materials, or use specialized material to create supports for products with complex geometries. The mechanics have been updated to achieve maximum accuracy. It uses new blocks with magnetic encoders to control the presence and supply of material. The new product features new algorithms for the feed control system - they provide higher accuracy. The filament feeding mechanism itself has become more stable and reliable. The new model also uses a heated printing platform with increased rigidity, which simplifies the procedure for leveling it. Printing speed has become faster compared to the previous generation. This was achieved by optimizing work with XY motors on a new software core. In basic speed modes, the speed increased up to 1.7 times. In addition, the range of acceptable speeds when printing in Manual mode and for gcode files from third-party slicers has been expanded. The Picaso Designer XL Pro S2 3D printer uses new control electronics that are efficient and stable. It provides high accuracy and printing speed, job loading speed has increased 50 times, and the printer itself can be remotely controlled not only via Etdernet (LAN), but also via Wi-Fi. The control board has many useful functions. If there is a sudden power failure, printing will be paused. When resuming, you can choose whether to continue printing “from model” or “from platform”. The second option allows you to effectively divide the future product into parts for subsequent gluing. Instead of a monochrome display and joystick, a modern color touchscreen with a completely redesigned interface, animation and detailed on-screen prompts is now used. Along with Picaso Designer XL Pro S2 comes a radically updated version of the proprietary Polygon X 2.0 slicer.
