3D printer Creality CR-10

The Creality CR-10 3D printer is an excellent example of an affordable, easy-to-assemble and easy-to-maintain FDM printer with a solid build area. This model has become the base for the entire line due to its successful architecture. It is perfect for use at home and in educational institutions. The printer has an open body and Cartesian kinematics. The robust frame is made of aluminum profile, and the control unit with mount for the coil is located separately. In this model, Creality developers have used patented technology: a V-shaped profile in combination with a precision pulley makes the mechanics more wear-resistant, increases printing accuracy and at the same time reduces noise levels. The print area dimensions of this basic model are 300x300x400mm - very impressive for such an inexpensive printer! The kinematics of the printer are classic: the printing platform moves along the Y axis, and the print head moves along the X and Z axis. This system does not include any complex components, is easy to assemble and is quite reliable. The plastic is fed into a Bowden extruder with a maximum temperature of 250 °C, which is capable of working with PLA, PETG, TPU, and, with thermal regulation, even ABS. The printing platform, consisting of a metal base and a tempered glass table, can heat up to 75 °C. Print quality is at a good level: layer thickness ranges from 0.1 to 0.4 mm with an accuracy along the XY axis of 0.1 mm. The printing speed is adjustable from 30 to 100 mm/s. Creality CR-10 is equipped as standard with an 8-bit motherboard and a 3-inch LCD display with an encoder knob. The board may not be the most powerful today, but it is extremely reliable. A USB port and a Micro SD memory card slot are used to download data. To reduce cost, the printer comes in DIY format, but consists of only a few pre-assembled modules. The user just needs to install the portal with the print head on the base and connect the control unit. Even for a beginner, this is unlikely to take more than 20 minutes.
